PEARL HARBOR REMEMBRANCE DAY

Every year we put on a December 7th Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day event at the Little Pier in Oceanside, California, in memory of our dad who was a Pearl Harbor Survivor and started the Chapter of Pearl Harbor Defeners in Encinitas back in the early 80’s.  Both our parents were marines and so it is honoring those that have gone before.  When our Dad died at 100, he told us to keep doing this event…so we do.  In the past few years, we have made loveys.  Last year it was to commemorate 250 years of excellence to mark the 250 anniversary of the US.  In 2024, we sewed pearls on the tags that said Remember (pearl sewed next to remember). We give them to people at the event and passer Byers who are always stunned to be given anything.
